Late Model 2009
The following rules will be in effect for Antioch Motor Speedway weekly events.  All competition of weekly races will be governed by the rules under General Rules.  Mirrors and radios will be allowed. NDRA rules also govern the Late Model rules at at Antioch Speedway
1. BODY All dimensions.   See diagrams in NDRA or Fastrak rules.
2. CHASSIS & SUSPENSION   Engine setback  5 1/2" maximum, measured #1 spark plug to top center ball joint.  Rear of car may be opened.  76" maximum width on body.  1" tolerance.  101" minimum wheelbase.  8" rear spoiler; 72" wide 3 blades allowed.  No part of the body may extend beyond the plane established by the 76" width.  Rear bumper may not extend over 1/2 width of rear tire on each side.  May be curved inside rear quarter panels at 90 degree angle.  Front push bars allowed, may not exceed width of front chassis rail.  Suspension - OPEN - ANY TYPE.  No part of frame may be aluminum or titanium.  Front and rear wrecker pick ups are MANDATORY.
3. ENGINE   Weights:    GM  602   Car & Driver:  2250 lbs.               GM  604   Car & Driver:  2400 lbs.
Touring events allow 1 lb. per lap 'burn off' in feature only.  Weekly events
NO fuel 'burn off' will be allowed.  All Engines and parts must be as from factory and all components there of.  Any changes will result in disqualification and no points awarded.  This includes, but is not limited to, harmonic balancers, valve springs, push rods, rocker arms, and after market valve covers. ***NO upgrades are allowed to any engine that may produce power via "performance enhancing methods".
4. CARBURETOR   Any 750 CFM carb or smaller.  Maximum 1 11/16 (1.6875) base plate.  No exceptions.  (Measured with go-no go)  Billet base plates may be used (.780 maximum) 602 2" carb spacer (0 tolerance); 604 1" carb spacer (0 tolerance).  Spacer may not protrude into carb or intake at any point.  One gasket per surface, .070 maximum.  No fuel injection, nitrous oxide, or other type systems allowed.
5. OIL PUMP Wet sump only.  No external oil pumps permitted even if considered "wet".  Remote oil filter and lines permitted.  (1 remote oil filter).  Oil cooler allowed (1).
6. IGNITION SYSTEM GM 602 may run MSD Type 6 box.  No RPM limit.  GM 604 may run Type 6 box with one rev limiter plug/chip. GM 604 may run HEI distributor but must run MSD part number 83645 digital HEI module.  No RPM limit.  No crank triggers or devices inside car that allow adjustment of timing.
7. FUEL Turbo Blue or Sunoco.  Must pass track test. E-85 is approved as an alternative cost effective fuel.l
8. FUEL PUMP   Any mechanical, NO ELECTRIC.
9. FUEL CELLS - MANDATORY (mounted in metal can).
10. FUEL LINES   Must be under car or in tubing.
11. BATTERY Must be mounted outside of driver's compartment or in enclosed bolted down metal box.
12. HEADERS   Any standard 4 in to one collector style.  1 5/8" to 1 3/4" (No tri-Y's).  No merge collectors.
13. CLUTCH   Any.
14. FLYWHEEL   Any.
15. TRANSMISSION   Any with the exception of NO in and out boxes.  All transmissions must have working clutch with forward and reverse gears.
16. DRIVE SHAFT   Any.
17. REAR END   Any standard quick change.  No sprint car type, no traction control, no 9" Ford or similar type.
18. BRAKES   Must have operational 4 wheel braking system.  No carbon fiber, titanium or other exotic materials permitted.
19. TIRES   Goodyear G45 or G50.  No grooving or siping.
20. WHEELS   Up to 14" wide wheels permitted; steel or aluminum only.  NO carbon fiber or titanium allowed.
21. ROLL CAGE   MANDATORY.  Must have minimum of three (3) bars in driver's door.  No aluminum or titanium cages permitted.
22. SAFETY   Window net and windshield screen are MANDATORY.  Seat belt - five (5) point system - MANDATORY.  Fire extinguisher (with gauge) mounted in a quick release harness within reach of driver is MANDATORY.  Full face helmet, complete fire suit and gloves are MANDATORY.
23. FUEL PROTEST :       $50.00  Fee
24. PROTEST :     $300.00  Fee                Track keeps $100.00               Two (2) items per protest.
To protest a car, you must finish in the position directly behind the car you are protesting or you must protest all cars in between your car and the car you wish to protest.  You cannot protest any car behind you, unless you were protested by that car.  All protests must be in writing five (5) minutes from the time the car leaves the scales.
25. HEAD & INTAKE PROTEST :        $300.00  Fee                Track keeps $100.00
26. ENGINE TEAR DOWN RULE :       $800.00  Fee               $200.00  To accept               Track keeps $200.00 
Engine must be re-assembled in an approved facility which has the ability to reseal the engine to GM specifications.  Delivery, pick-up, and any incurred expenses are the responsibility of the engine owner.  Tear down will be the removal of one (1) cylinder head, removal of front (timing) cover, inspection of timing chain and gear.  Inspection for offset pin or offset key.  Cam lift intake and exhaustcams may be checked for lift and duration. , inspection of head (including component parts) and intake manifold.  Heads:  Minimum 62cc.  2cc. tolerance.  No grinding, blending, or polishing of any kind allowed.
27. ENGINE CLAIM :      GM  602 $3250.00  Fee        GM  604 $5250.00  Fee          Track keeps $50.00
Only the winner of the race can be claimed.  Only a driver on the lead lap can make a claim on the winner.  If more than one person makes a claim on the winner, then the driver finishing the furthest back has first (1st) choice.  Claim is for the engine as delivered from factory and will include only the items as purchased from GM.
